Dumo
Dumo is a Dublin/Wicklow based artist.
He is a model maker and self taught painter, interested in painting fictional realism.
His compositions are built using Wicklow as a source material for creating imaginary dioramas.
Dumo’s oil and acrylic paintings are inspired by the Wicklow landscape. He arranges his compositions with a sensitivity and affinity with balance, depth and light.
His paintings invite you to consider the relationship between the familiar and the imagination.
This body of work displays painting’s that are the result of Dumo’s current exploration into scale. His background in miniatures and scenic model making initiated his interest in painting on the miniature scale.
Over the past year Dumo has produced paintings on a larger scale. These paintings deliver us a sense of tranquility and space, balanced with an intrigue to further explore this fictional yet familiar landscape.
